Triple Bunk
You will see in my last three blog posts, each illustration contains three Gekkards. Fortunately, three is a popular number in art compositions since it is an odd number, but the meaning runs a little deeper in my life. I was born the third child in our family, at 3:07 am in the morning, on May 3. From there, the number 3, unequivocally, became my lucky number and you will find it appearing in many of my compositions. Original Sketch drawn back in late 2001. Final Art completed in August 2010.

The Midwest: Returning Home
(This trip included art shows in Minneapolis, Des Moines, Chicago & Jackson Hole, WY) A view of Lake Michigan, the place I grew up. My trip to the midwest was a great excursion this summer. The Gekkards wanted to prove they can find good homes to live no matter what the climate, and that’s exactly what they did. My adventures included winning my first art show award, nearly hitting a deer on my mountain bike, slaughtering over 2000 flying insects on America’s interstates, seeing a wild eagle in flight and spending time on the south shore of Lake Michigan where …
