The idea for this illustration began with a sketch of tortoises snorkeling within the reach of the octopus. A customer then emailed me, requesting if I had any art with a scuba diving theme? I modified the sketch to replace the tortoises with sea turtles and their snorkeling gear with scuba tanks. I thought it would be ominous for the sea turtles to dive a sunken U-Boat. The customer also provided me with some reference photos which gave me the inspiration to add the sharks in the background. The overall theme of the piece is stated in the title, “No Trespassing.”
