The Gekkards
The Gekkards are original lizard-like creatures created by artist Joey Welsh. Their name is born from the words gecko and lizard. The Gekkards wear somber expressions, but don't let that fool you. It disguises their inquistitive minds and wonderful sense of humor. They have a habit not to think their actions all the way through, which leads them on many delightful journeys. There are no individual Gekkard personalities. They travel in groups and come in all sizes and colors. |

Bogus Froglouski
Bogus first appeared in The Gekkleberry Tree. He is an over-sized bullfrog and a great friend to the Gekkards. He has a huge heart along with an unsatiable appetite. He is based on Joey's giant childhood friend who's real name is George Boguslawski. He stands 6' 7" tall and much like Froglouski, he never seems to get full. He is a favorite of the children and plays a very special part in the Gekkard's lives.

Chopper
Chopper is one of three brand new characters joining the Gekkard Gang in their next adventure. Youthful and passionate, Chopper has enough energy to devour any sort of adventure. He is fearless, not because he is a crocodile and everyone is afraid of him, but because everything in life is exciting to Chopper. His emotions run deep and they often get the best of him.

Slowpoke
Slowpoke is a Tortoise. He is slow, of course, but he's also a thoughtful and resilient creature. Full of ideas, Slowpoke likes to help others find solutions to their problems. He is a father figure to the Gekkard Gang. However, he also has a strange obsession with the cowboy way of life.

Lilac
Lilac is a very pretty dragonfly. Her appearance is colorful, but her underlying sensibility is black and white. She is decisive and witty. Her desire in life is to make the most of opportunities and she is up to the challenge of living in a male-dominated world of reptiles.
