What the heckleberry is a Gekkleberry? (or frequently asked questions)

What is a Gekkard?
The original concept of the Gekkards began with a group of lizard-like creatures in 1998. Since they resembled both lizards and geckos, we decided to call them Gekkards, an amalgam of the words gecko and lizard.

Where can I purchase Gekkard products?
Many of our products are available through our online store. In addition, we also attend a number of art shows, trade shows and reptile shows where our products can be purchased. Some products may also be found at select book stores, galleries and gift shops.

How are the art prints made?
All of our prints are printed on acid-free water color paper. The ink used to produce our prints has a lifetime rating of over 75 years. In addtion, we use archival matting on each print to ensure the long-life of our products. We recommend framing the matted prints under glass and avoiding direct sunlight.

Our new canvas prints are also printed with archival inks, once the inks cures, the prints are sprayed with a protective satin coating. The prints are then strectched and gallery wrapped over 1.25" stretcher bars. The result is a beautiful canvas piece that does not need framing and its vibrant colors will not fade for a very long time.

Can I have my artwork and book signed by the artist?
Yes. Joey Welsh signs each individual print by hand. Books are also signed when ordered from our online store. Books can even personalized to the recipient upon request.

How can I stay updated on the Gekkards?
Please feel free to join our mailing list by signing up here. We send out an e-news letter several times a year, along with a couple postcard mailngs. In addition, the Gekkards have a Facebook page that allows for direct interaction with Joey and his work..
