Gekkards are original lizard-like characters created by artist Joey Welsh. The Gekkard name was created by combining the words gecko and lizard. In addition, there are several other reptilian characters that make up the Gekkard Gang. Please visit the Meet the Gang section to learn more.
The Gekkleberry Tree is the title of the first fully-illustrated storybook featuring the Gekkards. It was written and illustrated by Joey Welsh. Gekkleberries are a fictional fruit found only in the world of the Gekkards. See book section here.
Yes. The Gekkard Gang has many big adventures planned over the next few years. The second book, To See the Sea, is currently entering the final production phase. We do not have a release date at this time, but look for it in late 2008 or early 2009.
Currently our products are available at the many artshows we attend each year. In addition, they are also available through select book stores, galleries and gift shops. You may also contact us directly for special orders.
All of our prints are printed on acid-free water color paper. The ink used to produce our prints has a lifetime rating of over 75 years. In addtion, we use archival matting on each print to ensure the long-life of our products. We recommend framing the art under glass and avoiding direct sunlight when possible.
Yes. Joey Welsh signs each individual print by hand. Books are also signed when ordered directly from us and they can even be personalized to the recipient, along with a short message upon request.

At the present time, we are researching several potential retail locations for future "Gekkard Gallery" stores. We have a 18-24 month timeline for this project and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
